You can permanently delete your Maranox account and all the data we hold about you at any time — directly in the app, or by contacting us.
Delete it in the app (fastest)
Open Maranox and go to the Cloud screen.
Make sure you are signed in, then scroll to the bottom.
Tap “Delete account & data”.
Confirm. Your account and cloud data are erased immediately.
The deletion is instant and irreversible. There is no separate request to wait on.
Can’t open the app? Ask us to delete it
Email contact@maranox.ie from the email address on your Maranox account and ask us to delete it. We will complete the deletion within 30 days (your GDPR right to erasure), and usually much sooner.
What gets deleted
Everything we store that is linked to your account is permanently removed:
Your account and sign-in identity (email / Google login)
Saved marks and your tracks (including recorded GPS paths)
Your synced settings and profile (boat name, preferences)
Your last shared device/boat position
Any crowd-shared AIS observations you uploaded
What is not deleted
Charts and data saved on your device. These are your local copy and stay on your phone/tablet until you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
Your subscription. Subscriptions are billed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, not by Maranox. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription — cancel it in your App Store / Google Play account settings separately.
Anonymous, aggregated analytics that cannot identify you, and minimal records we’re legally required to keep (e.g. for tax) where applicable.
Backups
Live data is erased immediately. Any copies held in routine encrypted backups are overwritten on the normal backup cycle and are gone within 30 days.
